About the Role

Matternet is looking for a UAV Operations Technician to join our ever expanding US-based operations team! This role is essential to our expansion in the US, and will wear many different hats related to our flight operations, including helping launch new US-based networks, conducting demo operations for potential customers, providing training to new operators, and assisting with vehicle testing.

You Will:

  • Be an expert on the Matternet drone technology stack
  • Provide in-person and remote support for US and Global Matternet operations
  • Conduct demo operations for potential customers and help launch new networks
  • Provide training to new flight operators
  • Conduct vehicle test flights
  • Support root cause analyses of mechanical and electrical failures in vehicle equipment
  • Perform regular mechanical and electrical inspections of equipment
  • Complete on-site UAV burn-in and basic autonomous flights
  • Provide product feedback to engineering and manufacturing teams
  • Partner closely with customers and Air Traffic Control

You Have:

  • Significant experience building, maintaining and operating complex and custom multi-rotor UAVs
  • Strong familiarity with manned or unmanned flight safety best practices
  • Proficiency in reworking mechanical and electrical systems
  • Proficiency in mechanical and electrical quality inspection
  • Experience following Standard Operating Procedures
  • FAA Part 107 Certification
  • Availability to travel up to 35%

Great Additions:

  • Experience writing, editing, and implementing written procedures within the aviation industry or other highly regulated industries
  • Experience training or overseeing flight operations conducted by others
  • 4+ years of experience in commercial or military drone operations experience
  • Manned-aircraft pilot experience
  • Customer-facing experience in a service industry
